WHAT IS RUGGED LOTUS?
To answer that question, I’ll begin with the definition of the word “rugged”, an adjective, with several subjective meanings:
“having a broken, rocky, and uneven surface.”
“strongly made and capable of withstanding rough handling.”
“having or requiring toughness and determination.”
The symbolism of the lotus explores the light that reaches the darkest depths under the surface, and the beauty that stretches itself and breaks open into bloom after bloom after bloom.
Together, Rugged Lotus is the honoring of all the broken, rocky bits that lead to strength and determination, and the courage to bloom. For me, this has always been the core of my own creative endeavors… my most meaningful art has always been in this realm of soulful expression and a deep respect of every experience, no matter how hard.
Rugged Lotus Art is where I choose to share this practice, this joy, this intention, this life… with YOU. I have manifested my biggest dreams from working with these deeper spaces within, and while these practices and experiences were a bit more private for the past several years, I am feeling called back into this space to extend these invitations out into the world, and I am full of excitement and wonder for these next blooms, together.
